Northern Virginia Couples Session

If you’re looking for a place for couple’s pictures in Northern Virginia, I have JUST the spot - or 3:) It’s for lovers after all hehe. Virginia offers rolling hills for the more whimsical couple, dignified meadows for those whose love is like that of Pride and Prejudice, and classic architecture for the modern love. These are some of my favorite places for couples shoots in VA, I hope you like them too :)

MANASSAS BATTLEFIELD:

The Manassas Battlefield is located an hour west of DC. It is rich in history for all those who are passionate about the Battles of Bull Run. The scenery is a meadow wrapped by the river and breaks of trees. There are flowering bushes that make a beautiful backdrop to highlight a blooming love. Just be careful of other historical enthusiasts who are also hiking in the area. There were a few moments when I had some hikers pause on their walk to watch me and my couple like a bunch of wild animals haha. It wasn’t a worry though, because usually when you just smile and wave they carry on with their day. And if they don’t - you have the whole battlefield to explore!

Silver Lake Regional Park:

This place is my personal favorite. It’s hard to explain the peacefulness that this park offers, but hopefully you can feel it through the pictures! For this shoot we went in the morning and it was kinda gloomy out but the pictures did NOT disappoint. Honestly, overcast is such a slay in my opinion lol it never disappoints. Silver Lake has such beautiful meadows and the prettiest little lake. Think of the scene from Pride and Prejudice when Mr. Darcy meets Elizabeth in the meadow at dawn. Silver Lake only adds to the natural and magical element of what love is. Perfect for an engagement or anniversary shoot hehe.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA:

DC offers a classic and sophisticated vibe for those who want a timeless shoot and are willing to drive a little further. Because of the sharpness of the architecture of the National Mall, a simple outfit brings out the simplicity and effortlessness of the city. There are nice little grass areas for a more natural shot…or you could go the more fun way and have the Lincoln Memorial in the background ;) This is my FAVE! A little wisdom learned from experience - make sure the location you’re planning on is actually open. We arrived at the Lincoln Memorial and it was closed for the day haha - oops! Luckily there are so many other options and you can get creative with it:)
